International Dance Educators Workshop 2016

Ausdance Victoria dance teacher event MelbourneThe International Dance Educators Workshop (IDEW) returns November 17 and 18, set for Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in North Melbourne. Hosted by Ausdance Victoria, it is billed as an “invaluable opportunity for teachers and practitioners to network, exchange ideas and learn new approaches in a practical, informal and engaging environment.”

The workshop caters to all dance teachers, as well as other educators who want to use dance to teach other subjects. In addition to a seminar by Phillip Adams, this year’s event will feature sessions by Katrina Rank (on using Laban technique as a movement stimulus), Bea Glendenning (on exploring visualisation and imagery in dance with the Franklin Method), Dmitriy Evdokimov (on practical anatomy for dancers), Luke Alleva (on industry techniques to enhance creative choreography) and David Jones (on dance and “the groove.”)
