Gary Lang to lead workshops at WAB

Edging closer to the premiere of Gary Lang’s Milnjiya, Milky Way – River of Stars, West Australian Ballet (WAB) has recently announced a new opportunity for dancers to train with the choreographer, who’s at the forefront of aboriginal ballet choreography.

Lang’s groundbreaking new work Milnjiya, Milky Way – River of Stars will premiere at WAB’s 2018 Ballet at the Quarry Season, running February 9-March 3 as part of the Perth International Arts Festival (PIAF). In the lead up, he will teach workshops for professional and pre-professional dancers at the WAB Centre on January 10-13.

The workshops are open to dancers aged 16 years and over. They will allow participants to experience Lang’s unique blend of traditional Aboriginal dance, contemporary dance and classical ballet.
