Final Call for Auditions at AMPA

Academy of Music and Performing ArtsIt’s not too late to apply to audition for 2017 intake into the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA) in Sydney! Audition appointments are still available to make the cut for the start of the first program intake in the New Year. If you’re serious about making a career out of Dance or Musical Theatre, apply now!

AMPA offers three courses suitable for dancers: Bachelor of Dance, Associate Degree of Dance, and Bachelor of Music (Performance) – Music Theatre. These serve as “stepping stones” from studio training to a professional career. Daily technique classes in a variety of genres are supported by other complementary studies.

The goal of AMPA’s dance training is to “develop highly skilled, disciplined, knowledgeable and versatile dance artists.” To be accepted, dancers must participate in a technique class; perform at least one solo (approximately one minute long); do an interview; and complete a writing task.
