‘Burn the Floor’ still sizzling after two decades

Burn the Floor coming to Melbourne in January 2017The iconic ballroom spectacular Burn the Floor will soon launch its 20th anniversary year at Arts Centre Melbourne’s State Theatre on January 6-15! Featuring live singers and a band “re-imagining music from Santana to Led Zeppelin”, the production will present 14 top ballroom dancers in routines choreographed by Peta Roby, based on original choreography by Jason Gilkison.

 

The show will set Melbourne’s grandest stage alight with stunning costumes and breathtaking moves by some of dancesport’s best athletes. The audience will be treated to classics like the Foxtrot and Tango, plus the energies of the Rumba and Jive and the inventiveness of newer, contemporary styles.

 

Having originated in the U.K., Burn the Floor has now been to more than 130 countries around the world. Australian Latin Champions Peta Roby and Jason Gilkison are the creative forces behind this special anniversary edition.
