Broadway and West End music theatre starBroadway and West End music theatre star Sierra Boggess is set to tour Australia for the first time in late autumn 2017. Known for her leading lady roles in blockbusters like Phantom of The Opera and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, she will visit Sydney’s State Theatre from Saturday, June 3; Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall from Thursday, June 8; and Arts Centre Melbourne from Saturday, June 10.

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber once said of Boggess, “She has one of the most sublime voices I have ever worked with.” He personally invited her to perform the role of Christine in the Phantom of the Opera’s 25th Anniversary Production at Royal Albert Hall. Recently, she also worked on his adaption of the Jack Black favourite School of Rock on Broadway.

Boggess has been honoured with nominations from the Drama Desk Awards, Drama League Awards, Laurence Olivier Awards and others. She has performed in concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall with a host of stars and music theatre luminaries, including Josh Groban and Nathan Lane (Tony Award winner and star of The Producers.) She’s even sung with Downton Abbey’s Julian Overdon at the BBC Proms.

On her role in Phantom of the Opera, the UK Daily Mail wrote, “Sierra Boggess as Christine is the production’s great joy. She has a soprano of porcelain precision.”

On her performance in The Little Mermaid, New York Daily News wrote, “Boggess impresses. The Little Mermaid star proves she can also be a little barracuda.”

On her latest role, the Associated Press wrote, “Sierra Boggess, as the uptight school principal, has brilliantly been allowed to tap into her operatic background and also deliver a truly wondrous ballad in Where Did the Rock Go?”
