Aussie takes the stage in ‘Lord of the Dance’

Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games 2015 Australian TourThe global Irish dance phenomenon returns this spring to Australia! Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games will tour to Hobart, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney between September 10 and October 25.

Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games enjoyed a sell-out season in London’s West End last year, returning to The Dominion Theatre in March 2015 due to overwhelming demand. This international production comes to Australia as part of a 15 country-tour, following an extensive U.K. tour.

While Michael Flatley will not be performing in the Australian tour (he recently danced for the last time at London’s Wembley Stadium in July), the show will feature an Australian native, Ceili Moore.

Moore was born and raised in Picnic Point and went to Panania Public School before attending high school at Newtown Performing Arts. After she started dancing at age 3, she trained across a variety of styles. The style she fell in love with, however, was Irish dancing. Moore went on to become a State, National, North American National, All Ireland and World Champion. At 18, she began her competitive career and has performed in four major dance shows across 10 countries.

Ceili Moore to perform in Lord of the Dance Australia 2015 TourWhile currently earning a masters in training at the Aust Institute of Fitness and assisting her mum teaching at the Fiona-Gaye Moore Academy, she is also preparing to tour Australia with Lord of the Dance, a company that brought Irish dance into the global spotlight after Flatley founded it in 1996 and has since mesmerized more than 60 million people in 68 countries around the world.

Flatley’s new show Dangerous Games has exciting and groundbreaking new technology too, including holographs, dancing robots, world champion acrobats and 34 of the greatest Irish dancers in the world. A new score composed by Gerard Fahy pairs up with the new choreography, stunning new costumes and special effect lighting to add a breathtaking new dimension to the original masterpiece.

This latest version of the global dance phenomenon combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and heart-stopping dance, making it perfect family entertainment.
