Arts South Australia awards Sally Chance

Arts South Australia Ruby Award for founder of Restless Dance TheatreSally Chance, founder of Restless Dance Theatre, has won Arts South Australia’s Ruby Award for Sustained Contribution by an Individual.

 

Along with Chance, many other cultural luminaries were recognised and awarded at this year’s Ruby Awards. Held on Saturday, December 10, the event was attended by 400 people at the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Grainger Studio on Hindley Street. Australian Dance Theatre performed as part of a mixed bill.

 

In addition, Lee-Ann Buckskin was named as the recipient of the Geoff Crowhurst Memorial Award. This follows the recent announcement that the Australia Council for the Arts appointed her as the first Indigenous Deputy Chair of the federal arts funding and advisory body.

 

On the Ruby Awards, Arts South Australia Executive Director Peter Louca stated, “These awards are a celebration of the best our arts and cultural sector have to offer, and the excellence displayed reflects the sector’s resilience, despite challenging times.”
