ADT holds 2017 Youth Ensemble Auditions

Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) is on the search for talented male and female dancers aged 14-20 to join the 2017 intake of the ADT Youth Ensemble. Participation in the Youth Ensemble will provide essential, unmatched experience to aspiring professional dancers, with performance opportunities at upcoming festivals and events.

Previous events that Youth Ensemble dancers have performed at include The Australian Dance Awards, ADT’s Ignition choreographic season, Adelaide Fringe Festival Parade and more. 2017 has a lineup of incredible performance opportunities with some of Australia’s leading choreographers. These valuable experiences form the basis for quality CV material and references, ready for tertiary study and job prospects.

Auditions will take place Monday, January 30 from 4:30- 6:30 pm. ADT’s facilities are located at 126 Belair Road, Hawthorn, South Australia.

To audition, applicants must be the appropriate age, have performed at an intermediate/advanced level in contemporary dance, be athletic, resilient, quick thinking, and passionate about dance and movement research.

Successful dancers will be required to participate in rehearsals on Wednesdays from 4:30–7 pm at ADT’s studios. The cost of participation in the Youth Ensemble is $230 per term, plus additional costs for travel and costumes.

Applicants under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian permission to participate in the audition.
