Sadler’s Wells London family classes

Sadler’s Wells is expanding ‘Take Part’, its series of projects available to the wider community, by presenting a series of online workshops and activities for audiences to dance along to in their own homes. These workshops have been specially created for families with younger children now unable to attend kinder or school. The workshops are available via the Sadler’s Wells YouTube channel. Coordinated by Sadler’s Wells’ Learning & Engagement team, these workshops are led by Cherie Coleman, who runs Family Friday sessions at Sadler’s Wells, and feature 5 different movement activities for children aged 2 to 6 years to follow at home. The Australian Ballet 

Why not try one of The Australian Ballet’s adult lessons at home, it’s $25 for a 60 minute class, anywhere, anytime. New classes are released on Tuesday at 4pm. Once purchased, you’ll be able to access the class as many times as you would like over 7 days – practice makes perfect!

Battery Dance TV  NYC, USA

Battery Dance launched Battery Dance TV on March 27, 2020 at batterydance.org/dancetv/ to provide free live dance classes and programming for the general public by Battery Dance and affiliated local and international artists through a regularly scheduled program. In its first 8 weeks, Battery Dance TV has had nearly 200,000 views from people in 133 countries. Check it out!

 

Perform-Ability 

Perform-Ability are currently running classes online for dancers with special needs and disabilities. A Youtube channel with dance lessons designed for their main student groups – Youngstars, Teens & Adults has launched. Dance/NYC Facebook Live series

Dance/NYC moves into its ninth week of hosting a twelve-part Facebook Live Conversation Series with arts workers from across the arts and culture sector. These discussions highlight the importance of the arts ecology, point to current challenges and offer considerations on our way forward as a field. This series is a part of #ArtistsAreNecessaryWorkers,a new online and social media campaign dedicated to the acknowledgement, representation and integration of dance and arts workers into the decision-making processes that will envision the future for New York City post-pandemic. The series launched successfully on Thursday, May 21, 2020, and will continue to take place every Tuesday from 5:30 – 7pm ET through August 4, 2020 on Dance/NYC’s Facebook Page.
